My Love Story with Alen ...

This is the song I listened in a video, where I met Alen for the first time. It was there where my "affair with him began and my subsequent love story" (in a symbolical sense). The letters of this song are beautiful, they touch our hearts; its strange melody moves my feelings whenever I listen to it, especially if I observe Alen singing it. It’s interesting to mention that the reason why I wanted to watch this video and not another one is because "Ruzica" was the name of my beloved mother.

In an interview to Goran Bregovic, he says that Ruzica is one of his most beloved songs, since first of all it is a precious ballad and it was the first time that he was faced to a melody of this kind. It was a challenge to sing it in spite of the time he had been singing with the “Bijelo Dugme” group (the White Button). In his beginnings he was a Heavy Metal singer but when entering “Bijelo Dugme” he also had to integrate other styles. "Ruzica" belongs to the last album that was recorded with the group back in 1988, before they separated. As a delightful data, it is said that behind every famous song of Goran (or any that he sang) a love story is hidden and that songs were dedicated to different women. It is said that “Ruzica” was dedicated to a famous Belgrade actress.
